Members of the PDP National Youth Vanguard in Bauchi State have reaffirmed their commitment to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and pledged to actively campaign for the party in the forthcoming general elections across the state.
The Chairman of the PDP National Youth Vanguard, Bauchi State chapter, Alhaji Danlami Adamu Yanke-Yanke, made the declaration while addressing journalists in Bauchi yesterday.
He commended the leadership of Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, describing his administration as development-oriented and committed to improving the welfare of the people.
Yanke-Yanke urged members of the group to work closely with other youths in sensitising eligible voters on the importance of voter registration, collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), and renewal of voter credentials where necessary.
He also called on residents of the state to embrace peace and conduct political activities with respect, maturity, and dignity.
"Peace remains the foundation of every meaningful development. No society can achieve sustainable progress without peace and unity among its people," he said.
The youth leader further applauded the working relationship between the PDP and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in the state, noting that the alliance would contribute to political stability and help produce credible leaders ahead of the 2027 general elections.
PDP Youth Vanguard also commended Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed and the gubernatorial candidate of the APM for selecting one of its members, Hon. Mahmood Babamaji Abubakar, as the party's deputy governorship candidate.
According to the group, the decision is a commendable one, noting that Babamaji possesses the requisite qualifications, competence, and experience needed to contribute meaningfully to the development of Bauchi State.
"The choicing of one of our members as the APM deputy governorship candidate is highly commendable. We have carefully assessed his qualifications and experience and are confident that his inclusion on the ticket will strengthen the party's prospects and contribute significantly to the advancement and progress of Bauchi State," the group stated.
According to him, Bauchi State has witnessed remarkable development under Governor Bala Mohammed's administration, particularly in infrastructure, healthcare, and youth empowerment.
"The governor's administration has ushered in a new era of development and progress in Bauchi State. His leadership has been marked by significant achievements in infrastructure development, healthcare delivery, and youth empowerment," Yanke-Yanke stated.
He noted that the administration's youth-focused programmes have equipped many young people with practical skills, encouraged entrepreneurship, and promoted self-reliance.
“The governor's commitment to youth empowerment reflects his vision for a brighter and more prosperous future for Bauchi State,” he added.
Yanke-Yanke called on citizens to continue supporting the governor's developmental initiatives, stressing the need for collective efforts to advance the state's growth and prosperity.
“We must all work together to build a brighter future for Bauchi State and sustain the progress achieved so far,” he said.
