Former Bauchi State Governor and the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the 2027 election, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar (SAN), has dismissed claims of a rift between him and the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate.
M.A's digital and creative media Aide, Shamsuddeen Lukman Abubakar, in a statement issued on Tuesday night, described as a false social media post alleging a political disagreement between the two APC leaders.
According to the statement, the claims were fabricated to mislead the public and create unnecessary political tension ahead of the 2027 general elections.
"Our attention has been drawn to a social media post making the rounds, falsely claiming that there is a disagreement or political rift between His Excellency Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar, SAN, and the Honourable Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate," the statement said.
The aide noted that although the allegations did not deserve a response, it became necessary to clarify the situation and reassure supporters across Bauchi State and beyond.
He maintained that the relationship between Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar and Prof. Pate remains cordial, respectful and anchored on a shared commitment to the development of Bauchi State.
He described claims of a fallout between the two leaders as deliberate falsehoods aimed at misleading the public.
"It is unfortunate that rather than presenting meaningful ideas, policies or a credible vision for the people of Bauchi State, some individuals have resorted to manufacturing fake news, spreading misinformation and engaging in politics of distraction. Such tactics neither serve democracy nor the interests of our people," the statement added.
The aide urged members of the public and supporters to disregard the rumours and rely only on information released through official communication channels.
"No amount of propaganda, falsehood or political mischief can diminish the mutual respect and cordial relationship that exists between these two distinguished leaders," the statement said.
It added that the camp of the former governor would remain focused on promoting unity, development and responsible leadership instead of responding to every false narrative circulated by political opponents.
