Members of the Wunti Street Igbo Traders Association have commended Dr. Bala Maijama'a Wunti for responding to widespread calls to contest the 2027 Bauchi State governorship under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement issued on Monday, the Association’s Chairman, Chief Emeka Aneke Ekwueme, praised Wunti’s decision to declare his interest, describing it as timely and commendable.
He said members of the Association who belong to the APC will actively support Wunti in securing the party’s ticket during the primaries. He added that members affiliated with other political parties will unite behind him during the 2027 general elections and vote massively for his candidacy.
Ekwueme described Wunti as a symbol of integrity, compassion, and purposeful leadership, noting that he has consistently matched his words with actions.
“Wunti has proven himself as a man of his word, firm, reliable, and trustworthy,” he said.
He further portrayed Wunti as a humanitarian and a “destiny helper” committed to uplifting others and restoring hope to the less privileged.
According to him, Wunti prioritizes service, impact, and improving lives over personal gain or recognition. He emphasized that Wunti has demonstrated true leadership by sacrificing his time, resources, and energy to empower and support others.
“Through community development, humanitarian efforts, and personal interventions, he has remained committed to making a difference,” Ekwueme added.
He also highlighted Wunti’s leadership style, which he said is rooted in empathy and accountability. “He listens, understands, and takes action, qualities that have earned him widespread respect and loyalty,” he said.
Ekwueme described Wunti as a man of honour and a leader whose impact is evident in the lives he has transformed.
He called on APC stakeholders from the national level to the grassroots and traditional rulers, religious leaders, the Wunti community, and the people of Bauchi State to prioritize merit and competence in their decision-making as the state prepares for the 2027 elections.
