NDC invites Gov. Mohammed, others to join 'crisis-free' party

By Ahmed Ahmed

The Bauchi State Chapter of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has called on Governor Bala Mohammed, political stakeholders, and aspirants from across party lines to join its ranks, promising a stable platform devoid of internal crises and litigation.

Alhaji Abdullahi Maigari Misau, the party’s State Chairman, made the call during an interview with journalists on Sunday in Bauchi.

He said the NDC offers a unique political environment free from factional disputes, making it an attractive option for politicians seeking a credible platform ahead of future elections.

According to him, the party stands out as one without leadership tussles or court cases, assuring aspirants of a level playing field.

“We are inviting all politicians, including the governor and his supporters, to join a party that guarantees fairness and transparency.

“If you are confident in your popularity and support base, the NDC provides the opportunity to contest without fear of internal crisis or legal battles,” he said.

Misau explained that the party had intensified efforts to promote its ideals of good governance through sustained awareness campaigns.

He noted that the NDC was leveraging media platforms, radio jingles, and strategic partnerships with organisations such as the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), civil society organisations, and other public institutions to reach citizens across the state.

He added that the growing awareness had begun to yield results, as many individuals from different parts of Bauchi State were already indicating interest in joining the party.

The chairman further disclosed that the party would soon inaugurate its state executive council and extend the process to all the 20 local government areas to strengthen its grassroots presence.

On membership expansion, Misau revealed that the NDC had introduced a digital registration portal to enhance participation.

He said provisions had also been made for manual registration to accommodate those unable to access online platforms, with completed forms to be forwarded to the national headquarters.

He disclosed that national membership registration had already reached nine million, reflecting the party’s increasing acceptance nationwide.

Misau urged citizens to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and align with the NDC, stressing that active participation was key to achieving good governance in the country.
