The National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS), Bauchi State Chapter, has celebrated its 2025 NAPPS Day with the theme "New Era: Walking the Talk to Build Sustainable Collaboration Between Government and Private Education Sector."
The event, held at the Banquet Hall, Zaranda Hotel, Bauchi, brought together stakeholders in the education sector to discuss ways to improve the quality of education in Nigeria.
In her address, the National President of NAPPS, Dr. Samira Junior, emphasized the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors in delivering quality education.
She stated that private schools have been vital partners in education delivery across Nigeria and called for genuine collaboration to drive progress.
The Bauchi State Chairman of NAPPS, Alhaji Musa Ibrahim Hardo, highlighted the roles of government and private schools in education delivery.
He urged the government to provide clear policies, regulatory frameworks, and incentives to support private schools, while private schools should uphold standards, contribute to national education goals, and invest in teacher development and infrastructure.
The Keynote Speaker, Barrister Alhassan Mohammed, commended the synergy between the state government and private schools and advocated for a review of multiple taxes on private schools.
He also called for the establishment of a fund to support private schools' development.
The Commissioner for Education, Bauchi State, Dr. Lawal Muhammad Rimin Zayam, affirmed the government's commitment to collaboration with private schools and announced the establishment of a private school directorate in the Ministry of Education.
The event featured goodwill messages, poetry presentations, cultural displays, and innovation shows by students from different private schools.
Awards were presented to; Islamic Orientation Secondary School, Azare, for outstanding National Result in UTME. Alhaji A U Misau for Selfless Service to NAPPS.
Muhammad Yakubu Zagi of Annoor International Islamic Academy, emerged as the Best Teacher in Private Schools, Bauchi LGA 2024/2025 Academic Session.
The Chairperson of the Local Organising Committee, Hajia Binta Faruq, appreciated all participants and contributors to the event's success.
