The Bauchi State Government, through the Committee set up for the purchase and distribution of the 2025 EID-el-Kabir Sallah Sacrificial Animals has commenced distribution of bulls and rams to faith based groups, associations and other vulnerable target groups.
Flagging off the distribution exercise on Sunday, Chairman of the Committee, who also doubles as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Aminu Hammayo said that the distribution of the animals is inline with Governor Bala Mohammed's policy of reaching out to groups and association's during the festive period of EID-el-Kabir.
Represented by the Principal Private Secretary (PPS) to Governor Bala Mohammed, Alhaji Hashimu Yakubu, Hammayo said that the Committee has designed a well articulated distribution plan that will be Coordinated by the State Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management under the leadership of the Commissioner.
He assured that all identified groups and associations captured in the distribution plan will get their share of the sacrificial animals accordingly.
Also speaking, the State Commissioner of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management Hajiya Hajara Yakubu Wanka implored the Committee members to ensure seamless distribution exercise.
Wanka expressed her appreciation to Governor Bala Mohammed for his consistency in identifying with vulnerable members of the society which underscore his compassion, care and concern for the citizens of the State.
The Commissioner further assured that the committee would implement the exercise in accordance with the distribution plan.
Our correspondent reports that during the flag off ceremony, youth groups were given their allocation letter that comprised 25 bulls, 40 rams N1,000,000 as costs of logistics.
