Bauchi State Governor, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has solicited a stronger partnership with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) to promote ease of doing business and accelerate economic diversification in the state.
The governor made the call at the 2026 Annual Management Retreat of the Corporate Affairs Commission, held at the Ahmadu Bello International Conference Centre (ICC), Bauchi recently.
Governor Mohammed said closer collaboration between the Bauchi State Government and the CAC would help business operators, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), overcome challenges and thrive.
He described the commission as a strategic institution in the nation’s economy and commended its Registrar-General, Husaini Ishaq Magaji, for the achievements recorded by the commission, particularly in the area of digital transformation.
The Governor assured the CAC of his administration’s readiness to support the commission in the discharge of its responsibilities for the economic benefit of the state and its people.
He said his administration had undertaken significant infrastructure and economic reforms aimed at creating an enabling environment for investment and business growth.
According to him, the state government has constructed more than 3,000 kilometres of roads and 10,000 classrooms, while also attracting investment deals worth billions of dollars.
Earlier, the Registrar-General of the CAC, Husaini Ishaq Magaji, said the annual management retreat was part of the commission’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the operational capacity of its personnel and enhance effective service delivery.
Magaji said the commission was undergoing transformation aimed at improving its services and ensuring timely registration of businesses and other clients.
He disclosed that the commission had also deployed artificial intelligence (AI) to support its digital processes and improve efficiency.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Governing Board of the CAC, Senator Ibrahim Ida, assured Nigerians that the commission would not allow citizens’ data to be misused or compromised under the leadership of the new board.
He said the protection of citizens’ data must remain central to the commission’s digital transformation agenda, stressing that the increasing use of AI and other digital technologies must not come at the expense of privacy, security and public trust.
The retreat, which was attended by more than 400 CAC staff and their family members, was designed not only as a management gathering but also as a platform for institutional reflection, capacity development and collective ownership of the commission’s transformation agenda.
