Former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bauchi State and former Sole Administrator of Toro local government area, Alhaji Sule Abdulkadir Doguwa, has died after a prolonged illness. Doguwa died on Sunday.
Reacting to the death, Bauchi State Governor, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, expressed deep sadness and grief over the passing of the elder statesman, describing his death as a great loss to the state.
In a condolence message issued by his spokesperson, Mukhtar Gidado, the governor said Doguwa's death came at a time when the wisdom, experience and counsel of elders of his calibre remained invaluable to Bauchi State and its people.
Governor Mohammed extended his heartfelt condolences to the deceased’s immediate family, relatives, friends, political associates and all those whose lives were touched by him.
He described the late Doguwa as a man distinguished by doggedness, humility, simplicity and commitment to public service.
According to him, Doguwa’s years in the civil service and his contributions to political development in Bauchi State earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues, associates and the wider community.
The governor noted that as a former Sole Administrator of Toro Local Government and former chairman of the PDP in Bauchi State, Doguwa made significant contributions to the political landscape and democratic development of the state.
"He remained a committed stakeholder whose experience and dedication contributed to the growth of political participation and public service in Bauchi," he said.
Governor Mohammed added that Doguwa would be remembered not only for the positions he held, but also for the simplicity with which he lived, the courage with which he faced challenges and his steadfast commitment to serving the people.
"The passing of Alhaji Sule Abdulladir Doguwa is a painful loss to Bauchi State. He was a man of courage, humility and conviction, whose contributions to our state, both in public service and politics, will not be forgotten. We mourn him deeply and pray that Almighty Allah grant him eternal rest," the governor said.
He prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, accept his good deeds and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus, while giving his family, friends and associates the strength and fortitude to bear the loss.
"May his soul rest in perfect peace. Ameen," the Governor prayed.
