The ASHH Foundation Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Case Management Committee has said that it managed 669 cases while convicting 32 persons in court between 2020 and 2026.

The Foundation, a non-governmental organisation through its project, Women's Voice and Leadership Project funded by Global Affairs Canada supported by ActionAid Nigeria, formed the committee to prevent and manage cases of gender-based violence cases.

The Executive Director of ASHH Foundation, Comfort Attah, said this on Thursday during the inaugural meeting of the Committee under its ‘Renewed Women's Voice and Leadership Project’.

According to her, during the period, “ASHH Foundation and this committee managed 526 SGBV cases, enrolled 74 survivors in therapy, and successfully won 32 cases in court and through mediation. These numbers represent lives restored and justice served.

“Even after the project ended in 2024, we did not stop. Between August 2024 and February 2026, ASHH Foundation continued to support survivors and managed an additional 143 cases. That brings our total to 669 cases handled since the inception of this committee,” she added.

She said that the Foundation has secured renewed funding under the Renewed Women's Voice and Leadership Project, funded by Global Affairs Canada and implemented by ActionAid Nigeria through ASHH Foundation. “Our goal is to strengthen this committee, expand our membership to include new representatives, and improve coordination, referrals, and survivor support across Bauchi State.”
