Dangote Foundation donates 20,000 bags of 10kg rice to Bauchi residents for Ramadan

Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi State has flagged off the distribution of 20,000 bags of rice donated by the Aliko Dangote Foundation as Ramadan palliative to vulnerable residents across the state. 

The ceremony was held at Dr. Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu Square, Government House, Bauchi, where the governor described the gesture as timely and commendable.

Represented by his deputy, Rt. Hon. Mohammed Auwal Jatau, the governor commended the foundation for its sustained humanitarian support, noting that the donation would ease the burden on many households observing the holy month of Ramadan. He said the partnership between the foundation and the Bauchi State Government reflects the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors in addressing social challenges.

Also speaking, the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Hajara Yakubu Wanka, explained that the initiative forms part of the foundation’s nationwide relief programme. She disclosed that Bauchi State received 20,000 bags of 10-kilogram rice, which will be distributed to vulnerable groups across the state.

Beneficiaries who spoke to our Correspondent expressed their appreciation for the gesture.
