Bauchi State Coalition of Christian Youth and Elders in Politics has commended the Chairman of Bogoro local government area, Dr. Yakubu Lawi Sumi for the ongoing mosque construction project at Ginzim community and sponsorship of 60 students to study at various tertiary institutions within the state.
Comrade Joel Joshua, chairman of the coalition made this known while speaking to our Correspondent on Wednesday, adding that the LG chairman released N500,000 to each of the 13 councillors to renovate boreholes in their respective wards in order to address water scarcity.
He stressed that the achievements recorded by Sumi within the last one year have impacted positively on the lives of the citizens.
Comrade Joshua appreciated the chairman for promoting religious harmony in the local government, stating that the Mosque project in Ginzim when completed, will provide the Muslim community with a conducive place of worship.
"The chairman constituted a strong and reliable committee to ensure that the project is standardized and completed on time, and thank God the project has reached an advanced stage".
"He sponsored 20 children of the less privileged to Oil and Gas academy Alkaleri, 20 to college of health and technology Ningi and 20 others to Technical school Dass", Comrade Joshua stated.
Joshua, who described Sumi as an elder who promotes religious freedom and harmonious living, highlighted some of his achievements, including renovating boreholes, repairing bridges, and providing 13 brand new motorcycles to councilors, as well as to many of his Aides.
"Sumi is following Governor Bala Mohammed's style of leadership, achieving silently and impacting lives," Joshua said.
The coalition urged Christians to participate in voter registration and support Sumi's programs, citing his commitment to peace and development.
