An education services company New Globe has expressed interest in partnering with the Bauchi State Government to strengthen foundational literacy and numeracy across public primary schools, describing the state as “visionary and ready for real change.”
Speaking after a presentation to the management of State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) in Bauchi, the company’s representative, Pearl Owei said the purpose of the visit was to explore collaboration opportunities that will enhance teaching, learning, and school administration in the state.
She explained that the organization has recorded successful outcomes in several Nigerian states and countries such as Rwanda, where similar programmes helped improve learning outcomes, teacher performance, and the overall basic education system.
“We are an education and services company that partners with visionary governments to improve and transform foundational literacy, numeracy, and basic education,” he said. “Our programme is a 360-degree solution designed to upgrade the entire school system from classroom instruction to teacher support and school governance.”
He described the reception from the Bauchi State Government and SUBEB management as “warm, enthusiastic, and encouraging.”
“You could really see the level of urgency and commitment from everyone involved. Bauchi has shown genuine willingness to work together and deliver meaningful change for its children,” he added.
She explained that the proposed partnership would include the provision of modern learning materials, training for teachers, improved classroom management systems, and tools that support effective school leadership. He noted that such interventions would directly benefit pupils by equipping them with stronger reading and numeracy skills at the foundational level.
“Aside from improving the quality of teaching, the programme also supports government in planning, monitoring, and achieving long-term educational goals. We typically implement five-year transformation programmes, with room for renewal based on performance,” he stated.
She called on all stakeholders in Bauchi’s education sector including teachers, school leaders, community members, and development partners to support the initiative.
“My final message is to appeal to all stakeholders to give full cooperation. Some stakeholders are not fully engaged, but we urge them to join hands with the government so that, together, we can address the challenges facing the education sector,” he said.

“I have researched Bauchi, and I can confidently say it is one of the states with a truly visionary government. We are very excited about the possibility of working together,” he said.
Earlier, the Permanent Secretary of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Abdulhamid Mohammed, said the state government is committed and keenly interested in working with the firm to uplift and upgrade the educational system, considering their expertise in the education sector, especially basic education.
