The Senator representing Bauchi South, Senator Shehu Buba Umar, has distributed over 21,000 bags of Semovita across the 20 local government areas of Bauchi State to cushion the effects of the current economic hardship.
This follows his earlier support of ₦10,000 and a bag of Semovita each to 1,000 women at the Federal Low-Cost Jummaat Mosque in Bauchi.
Speaking during the flag-off of the distribution, Senator Buba assured Nigerians that the ongoing economic challenges would soon ease, citing efforts by the federal government to stabilize the naira and strengthen the economy.
He emphasized that his intervention was not limited to his constituency but extended to other parts of the state, in line with his commitment to easing the burden on citizens.
Buba also called on Bauchi Central Senator Abdul Ahmed Ningi to join the All Progressives Congress (APC), following the resignation of Senator Sama’ila Dahuwa (Bauchi North) from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The APC State Organizing Secretary, Alhaji Abdulkadir Gyangyan, who chaired the distribution committee, commended the senator for consistently supporting his constituents. According to him, seven LGAs in Bauchi South received 1,000 bags each, while the remaining 13 LGAs got 500 bags each, with additional supplies allocated to party officials, organizations, and associations.
APC stalwart Alhaji Aminu Muhammad Danmalikin Bauchi praised Senator Buba’s numerous interventions, including sponsoring 500 students to study physical and environmental sciences at Malikiyya College and supporting others locally and abroad.
Islamic cleric Dr. Usman Giade and several beneficiaries thanked the senator for the gesture, describing it as timely relief amid hardship, and urged other leaders to emulate his compassion and generosity.
