Mother of quadruplets, family enrolled in State Health Insurance Scheme

By Bashir Hassan Abubakar

The Bauchi State Health Contributory Management Agency has given a sigh of relief to a local family by enrolling the recently born Azare quadruplets and their mother into its health scheme's vulnerable component.

This initiative is funded by the Federal Government's Basic Health Care Provision Fund through the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, aiming to support vulnerable families amidst the country's economic challenges.

Hauwa Usman, the 35-year-old mother, gave birth to the quadruplets at the Federal Medical Centre in Azare via normal delivery, despite prior medical examinations indicating triplets.

This latest addition brings her total number of children to nine. Expressing gratitude for her healthy delivery, Hauwa admitted to having no desire for more children.

The father, Buba Adamu, thanked BASHCMA for the intervention and appealed for further support from government agencies, NGOs, and individuals, citing their poor financial situation. With this enrollment, the family can now access healthcare services without significant financial burdens.

This development highlights the efforts of Bauchi State Government to make healthcare accessible to its vulnerable populations through the health contributory scheme.
