Bauchi citizens call on Bala Wunti to contest 2027 gov in APC

Bauchi State citizens, under the umbrella of a coalition of concerned stakeholders, have unanimously called on Dr. Bala Maijama’a Wunti, PhD, to contest the 2027 governorship election under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

This was contained in a communique read by Alhaji Liman Bello at end of one-day interactive session held in Bauchi on Sunday.

The forum comprised prominent politicians from the state’s twenty local government areas, religious leaders, professionals across various fields, women and youth groups, artisans, respected elders, and representatives of the physically challenged.

The group said the decision followed wide consultations and careful assessment of Dr. Wunti’s qualities, citing his humility, wealth of experience, philanthropy, and level-headedness as key factors. 

They also praised his passion for qualitative education, healthcare improvement, agricultural development, security, and the overall socio-economic transformation of the state.

The communiqué resolved that Dr. Wunti is the most qualified and capable individual to address the challenges facing Bauchi State. 

It urged him to urgently accept the overwhelming call to serve, stating that his leadership would bring solutions to problems bedeviling the education, health, agriculture, and economic sectors.

The group expressed hope and prayer that Dr. Wunti would not fail to heed this call, emphasizing that his candidacy reflects the collective aspirations of the majority of Bauchi citizens
