...As new leadership assumes office

Members of the Special Marshal Bauchi State Sector Command of the Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC), have been urged to continue to support the Regular Marshall in the operations of the Corps in order to have a safer road across the State.

The call was made by the Sector Commander of the FRSC, CC Istifanus Ibrahim, while presiding over the formal handing and taking over of leadership of the Special Marshal in his office at the Base on Saturday.

According to him, the Regular and Special Marshal are working together for the good of humanity to ensure that the roads are safer and lives are saved from unnecessary crashes caused by human errors.

He stressed that the work is not an easy one as it requires dedication, commitment, determination and sacrifices of time and resources but worth doing.

The Sector Commander particularly charged the Special Marshal members to uphold the honesty, integrity and dedication that they are known for, to live exemplary lives in order to command respect from all and sundry.

He commended the outgoing Executive led by SM Kunle Gbadamosi for steering the ship of the Special Marshal for the number of years it served, saying that it was indeed eventful.

He however reminded the outgoing Executive members that they are not going out of the fold but must be around to serve as guide to the new Executive Members knowing that leadership is all about supporting each other.

To incoming EXCO Members, the Sector Commander urged them to know that they were elected to serve, not to be served, they should therefore see leadership as a call to service to humanity.

He charged them to be fair, honest and open in their services to the members and should try at all times to be leaders with positive vibes and example.

Istifanus Ibrahim also stressed the importance of decorum in the behaviour of the Special Marshal because according to him, "Both Senior and Junior Officers are watching you and noticing your behaviours, please, exhibit decorum and discipline, you are part of a regimental organisation that respect seniority and age.

"You don't have to shout at each other, whenever there is misunderstanding, please, seek ways of amicable resolution, that is maturity," he added.

The outgoing State Coordinator, SM Kunle Gbadamosi, thanked the Sector Commander for his impactful leadership style since coming to Bauchi Sector Command, saying that it contributed to the success recorded by his leadership.

He pledged to remain supportive of the incoming leadership in order to succeed even far better than what his leadership did.

Also speaking, the incoming Sector Coordinator, SM Godwin Obioha, assured that his leadership will build on what positive things met on ground in order to move the organisation ahead.

He commended the Sector Commander for his role in guiding the Special Marshal right at all times, calling on him not to relent, but, "always call us to others whenever we are missing the point.”
