It was a day of great joy for students and parents of Gifted Secondary School in Darazo town, Bauchi State during its maiden graduation ceremony.
The member representing Darazo/Ganjuwa Federal Constituency Hon Mansur Manu Soro in 2022 constructed and furnished with learning equipment four Special Primary and four Gifted Secondary Schools with 1 each in all the 4 districts with free tuition, uniform, shoes, text books, bags and pocket money to provide free education to orphans and vulnerable children including, Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) children and Almajiris within his constituency.
Our correspondent gathered that in addition to free education, the school also covers the cost of the National Examinations Council (NECO) final exams. of the graduating students.
The graduation ceremony was filled with impressive performances by the students, who showcased their talents and expressed gratitude for the free education and support provided by the lawmaker
One of the parents, Mallam Mohammed Adamu, expressed his delight and gratitude to Hon Mansur Manu Soro for this remarkable contribution to education in Darazo and Ganjuwa LGAs and prayed that Allah reward him much abundantly.
Adamu also appealed to other politicians especially political office holders to emulate Manu Soro's intervention in the area of education to salvage teeming youths from the shackles of illiteracy and poverty so that the society can become a better place.
Speaking on behalf of the graduating students of Darazo Central Gifted Secondary School, Salisu Idris, described his school as saving grace to actualize his dream for education because his parents had attempted to abandon his educational pursuit at a point, saying, "My new school does everything to prove our eagerness to nurture our talent."
Idris who doubles as Head Boy said, “I don't have enough words to express our sincere gratitude to Hon Mansur Manu Soro for this great opportunity, great empowerment especially his willingness to give us education to actualised our dreams.Only Almighty Allah can reward you for your support to achieve this feat. To our teachers, we want to specially thank you for not only impacting knowledge but also the discipline that will make us great and help our country."
In related development, it is expected that another school, similar to Darazo, founded by Hon Manu Soro in Ganjuwa West, the Gifted School Kafin Madaki, will also graduate 41 students in the coming days.
