Constituents laud Leko’s achievements, urge him to return in 2027

A prominent youth-based political advocacy group under the auspices of the Leko Movement for Continuity has appealed to the Member representing Bogoro, Dass, and Tafawa Balewa Federal Constituency, Bauchi State Hon. Jafaru Gambo Leko, to seek re-election in 2027.

The call was made during the group’s maiden press conference held at the weekend in Dass Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

The group, which comprises youths and political stakeholders across the three LGAs of the constituency, cited the numerous developmental strides and youth-focused initiatives of Hon. Leko as justification for their appeal.

Salim Yakubu, Chairman of the Leko Movement for Continuity, noted that Hon. Leko has significantly transformed the constituency through various projects and interventions, particularly in youth empowerment, employment generation, and infrastructural development.

“Under his leadership, we have witnessed the provision of essential social amenities, including water schemes, solar-powered water pumps, hospital and educational equipment, agricultural inputs, food items, and relief materials across Bogoro, Dass, and Tafawa Balewa,” Yakubu said.

“These efforts have directly impacted the lives of ordinary citizens, especially the youth. This is why we, the young people, are calling on him to return in 2027 for the sake of continuity and sustainable development.”

Also speaking at the event, Sadeeq Saidu Dajin, a member of the movement, emphasized Hon. Leko’s legislative competence, applauding his role in sponsoring people-oriented motions and laws that address the pressing needs of the constituency.

“Hon. Leko is not just a grassroots politician; he is also a visionary legislator. His interventions at the National Assembly have brought visibility to our challenges and secured solutions that benefit our communities,” Dajin added.

The press conference witnessed the attendance of key stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), including party elders, youth leaders, and Hon. Leko’s coordinators from the three LGAs.

Their presence reinforced the growing consensus among constituents that Hon. Jafaru Gambo Leko’s leadership should be sustained beyond 2027.

The group has promised to embark on a constituency-wide sensitization campaign to further mobilize support for Hon. Leko, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
