Thousands of Muslims faithful in Osun State gathered at the Osogbo Central Eid ground on Sunday for a special prayer for rainfall.

The prayer, which was led by the Grand Imam and Chairman of the League of Imams and Alfas in the State, Sheikh Musa Animashaun, was held at the Osogbo Central Eid along Ibokun road, state capital.

Animashaun emphasised the importance of seeking Allah's guidance and forgiveness during challenging times.

He called on the residents of the state to seek forgiveness and blessings from God.

Sheikh Animashaun stated, "Whenever there is a possible threat of drought, we are enjoined by Allah through His Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) that we should go back to Him, and seek His guidance and forgiveness.”

Farmers in some states like Osun, Taraba, Adamawa, Oyo and others have been in anxiety over the threat to their crops which may result in food shortage.
