Gombe Governor Flags-Off Reconstruction Of 5 Roads In Kumo

Gombe State governor Inuwa Yahaya, on Thursday flagged-off the reconstruction of five township roads in Kumo, headquarters of Akko local government area of the state.

Speaking at the flag off ceremony, he said, the projects aimed to improve access and connectivity within the town.

The governor explained that the project include the reconstruction of four existing roads and the creation of a new one namely: Tashan Magarya to Market, Jibilu to Kembu road, Kambariki to Jaurori, Market roundabout to Kembu road, and newly awarded road at anguwan Tera to Tembe. 

According to him, the projects are parts of his administration's broader agenda to upgrade urban infrastructure across the state, infrastructure through the Network 11-100 initiative, particularly in key towns like Kumo.

Inuwa appealed to residents to take ownership of the projects, noting that the roads will be complemented by additional infrastructure such as street lighting, water pipeline,  among others.  

“I am delighted to flag-off the reconstruction of four township roads and construction of a new one to improve connectivity within Kumo. These roads have been neglected for years. I believe with these projects being executed, we work to transform Kumo. This project is not just about paving roads; it’s about paving the way for progress and prosperity for our people”, the governor explained.
