Bauchi Sate Independent Election Commission (BSIEC) has declared the
councilorship candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) Yunusa Muhammad as winner of 17 August 2024 Papa Ward councilorship election in state
Declaring the results at the collation centre Saturday in Darazo the Returning Officer, Muhammad Abdullahi Abubakar
said the AAC candidate polled 1, 156 votes to defeat his closest rival and candidate of the rulling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ashiru Mohammad Papa who polled 1,053 votes.
While the candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Idris Mohammad scores 290 votes and emerged third in the election.
"I Muhammad Abdullahi Abubakar hereby certify that I am the returning officer of the Papa Ward councilorship election in Bauchi held on the 17th day of August ; 2024. That Yunusa Muhammad of AAC having certified the requirement of law is hereby declared the winner and returned elected ," Abubakar said.
