Bauchi State Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) is set to hold its election for the new executive members of the chapter in the state.
According to the statement issued by the secretary of Electoral Committee (SWANECO) Kabiru Abubakar, said the election will hold on Thursday, 20th June, 2024 at the NUJ Press Centre by 9am.
Accordingly, the list of full members of the state chapter as approved by the National Secretariat will be published.
The SWANECO secretary further said candidates should go on with open campaigns till Wednesday, 19th June, 2024.
"Sporting greeting to you all. Consequent upon the approval by the National Secretariat of SWAN, SWANECO wishes to announce that the long-awaited State chapter election will hold on Thursday, 20th June, 2024. The venue is NUJ Press Center by 9am.”
Recall that the tenure in office for Exco has ended months which necessitated elections of the new leadership to lead the chapter for next three years.
