A close associate of former Bauchi State Governor, Mallam Isa Yuguda, has dismissed reports circulating on social media alleging that the former Governor has died.
The associate, Alhaji Salisu Barau, described the reports as false and baseless, insisting that Yuguda is alive and in good health.
Speaking to LEADERSHIP on telephone on Friday, Barau said there was no truth in the reports, urging members of the public to disregard them.
"It is a lie; Mallam Isa Yuguda is in good health," he said.
Another close associate of the former governor and his former aide, Hon. Abdulmumini Kundak, also dismissed the report, describing it as false information.
According to Kundak, Yuguda said, "I sincerely appreciate and thank the concerned people across Nigeria, especially the citizens of Bauchi State, for their support and concern. We are all patiently waiting for the right time."
Yuguda, born on June 15, 1956, served as Governor of Bauchi State from 2007 to 2011. He previously served as the federal Minister of Aviation from May 2003 to June 2005.
He was also served as Renewed Hope Ambassador and Coordinator for the North-East. The former Governor is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
