Group Lauds Prof. Pate For Securing Jobs For 2,777 Bauchi Youths

By Khalid Idris Doya

The Pate Youth Ambassadors Initiatives (PYI) has commended the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, for his significant contributions to the development of Bauchi State, particularly his role in facilitating employment opportunities for 2,777 youths across the state.

The group described the achievement as unprecedented, noting that no leader in the state's history has leveraged public office to empower such a large number of indigenous youths through employment.

Speaking at a press conference in Bauchi on Sunday, the director-general of PYI, Prince Mohammed Sani Hassan, said the milestone reflects Prof. Pate's strong commitment to youth empowerment, inclusive development, and selfless service.

He said, "This is not just a ceremony; it marks a defining moment in the political and developmental journey of Bauchi State and Nigeria at large. Today, we formally unveil a structured, disciplined, and visionary youth platform, the Pate Youth Ambassadors Initiatives (PYI)."

Hassan explained that PYI is a youth-driven political and developmental movement inspired by the vision and leadership philosophy of Prof. Pate, whose dedication to public service and human capital development continues to inspire many.

He added that the group has established a robust structure, including coordinators across all 20 local government areas of Bauchi State, zonal representatives for each senatorial district, state executives, ward-level mobilisers, and thousands of youth volunteers.

"This is not just an organisation; it is a movement of enlightened youths committed to development, unity, and active political participation," he said.

The group also announced its endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term, citing his leadership, economic reforms, and developmental initiatives.

According to PYI, continuity at this critical stage of national transformation is essential to consolidating gains and ensuring long-term growth, stability, and youth empowerment.

The group pledged to mobilise grassroots support across Bauchi State, promote peaceful democratic participation, and ensure strong voter turnout in support of Tinubu’s re-election bid.

PYI further called on the President and the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to consider Prof. Pate as a credible and unifying candidate for the Bauchi State governorship in 2027 general elections.

Describing him as a symbol of competence, inclusiveness, and visionary leadership, the group said his experience and global exposure position him as a leader capable of uniting the party and advancing the state's development agenda.

"Just as Nigeria needs continuity at the national level, Bauchi State requires transformational leadership at the state level," the group stated.

PYI reaffirmed its commitment to peaceful political engagement, democratic values, and unity across ethnic, religious, and political divides, while pledging continued mobilisation for development-oriented leadership.

The group urged stakeholders, particularly young people, to join in building a future anchored on unity, progress, and leadership excellence.
