By Khalid Idris Doya

Senator Shehu Buba Umar, who represents Bauchi South Senatorial District, has distributed 188 Hunter Hero motorcycles along with cash support to constituents in recognition of their contributions to his victory in the 2023 senatorial election.

The beneficiaries were drawn from all seven local government areas in the constituency, Bauchi, Toro, Alkaleri, Tafawa Balewa, Kirfi, Dass, and Bogoro. Each beneficiary also received N20,000 to support fueling and operational costs of the motorcycles.

Speaking during the empowerment programme held at Pali Hotel in Bauchi on Monday, Senator Buba said the gesture was aimed at rewarding grassroots and loyal supporters and encouraging continued grassroots engagement.

Represented by Abdulkadir Lawal Gyengyen, he noted that the initiative was part of his ongoing efforts to improve the welfare of his constituents and contribute to the development of his consistency.

He added that the empowerment programme was only one of several interventions he has undertaken, assuring that more initiatives are underway.

The senator also disclosed his intention to contest the Bauchi State governorship seat in the 2027 elections, appealing for sustained support from constituents to enable him to expand development efforts across the state.

Gyengyen, who also serves as chairman of the distribution committee, described Senator Buba as a lawmaker committed to the wellbeing of his people.

In his remarks, the Bauchi State Chairman of the APC, Muhammad Hassan Tilde, commended the senator for the initiative and urged other political office holders to emulate such efforts in serving the people.

He also emphasised the importance of voters' cards, reminding party members that possession of a valid voter card remains the only means of participating in elections.

He further announced that the party's website is open for new members wishing to join the APC in the state.

Also speaking, Hussaini Baba praised the senator for what he described as effective and impactful representation at the National Assembly.

On behalf of the beneficiaries, Alhaji Baba Sarkin Fawa expressed appreciation for the gesture, noting that constituents have no regrets supporting Senator Buba, given his contributions to their welfare.

He pledged continued support for the senator, assuring that beneficiaries would mobilise towards his future political ambition.

Another beneficiary, Munkaila Zakka from Bogoro, described the empowerment as fulfillment of campaign promises, reaffirming their readiness to support the senator in the 2027 elections.
