The former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar has said that he is a loyal member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who would follow the decision of the party whether to allow a consensus gubernatorial candidate or head for the primary election.

When asked for his perspective about the indication that his party might want to push for a consensus arrangement or head to direct primary, he affirmed his loyalty to the party.

While responding, Tuggar said that: “regarding the issue of consensus or primary election, I am a party man, I have always been so. There is no where I participated in party primaries or vying for a position or party ticket and I ended up going to court or worked against the final outcome.”

He pointed out that the former chairmen of the APC, ANPP, CPC who were seeing seated with him could attest to his loyalty to any party he has joined. “Whatever the party decides, I go along with it but if it is a contest between political parties, that is a different matter. I have gone to the Supreme Court to challenge an election.”

Tuggar who resigned his position in March to contest the gubernatorial election, said that his major focus would be to revolutionise the state agro-bussinesses and industrialise the components of the sector.

According to him, the reach potential of Bauchi State has not been full utilised to benefit residents, pledging to improve and support the development of the state mineral resources
