APC Stalwart charges party to present high profile candidate for governorship poll

By Mohammed Nasir Shuaibu

A stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State Dr. Hassan Halimhas has challenged governorship aspirants within the party to present verifiable records of their achievements ahead of the forthcoming elections.

The party chieftain said only candidates with tangible projects and credible track records should be entrusted with leadership, stressing that political relevance alone was not enough.

“Those seeking leadership must show what they have done for their people, not just make promises,” he said.

He also called for a change in leadership in the state, blaming what he described as poor governance for rising insecurity, unemployment and poverty.

According to him, the APC must secure a two-term mandate to implement meaningful reforms and ensure sustainable development.

“We need continuity. APC cannot afford to rule for just one term; we must plan for eight years to deliver real change,” he stated.

The stalwart further criticised the use of financial inducements to influence youths during elections, warning that such practices undermine democratic values.

He urged young people to resist being used as political tools and instead make informed choices during elections.

The APC chieftain maintained that the electorate now holds the power to determine the future of the state based on their experiences with past and present administrations.

He also expressed support for a governorship aspirant he described as credible, business-oriented and free from corruption allegations, noting that the individual has contributed to society through scholarships and youth empowerment initiatives.

Halim, appealed to all APC members, especially those at the grassroots, to rally round Honourable Mansur Manu Soro, a governorship aspirant under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), to position the state as a business hub in the North-East region.
