Mr Apaji Boyi, the Sector Commander, FRSC who disclosed this in an interview with the Newsmen on Friday, said 10 other persons sustained various degrees of injuries in the crash.

According to the FRSC boss, the accident which involved one commercial vehicle with Registration number KTG181 ZZ conveying the 19 passengers travelling from Gombe to Kano state, occurred around 6:20 am.

He added that it took the corps' personnel barely 10 minutes to arrive at the crash scene to clear the site.

Boyi, who attributed the cause of the crash to speeding, fatigue and loss of control, added that the injured had been taken to the Federal Medical Centre Azare for medical attention by men of the Federal Road Safety Corps.

He also said that the corpses of the deceased were also deposited at the morgue of the same medical facility.

"19 persons were involved in the fatal road crash and nine of them lost their lives at the spot while 10 sustained serious injuries,” he said.
