In its continued efforts to empower and promote girls' education in Bauchi, a non-governmental organization known as CHILD is GOLD Foundation has brought back 50 girls to school.
The Project Manager, George Ishaya Nuhu, who spoke on behalf of the Executive Director, Barrister Elizabeth George, gave a welcome address and reminded the girls about how special they are and the need for them to take their education seriously.
"We're overjoyed to share the success of our #BackToSchoolProject, implemented in collaboration with Hope for the Living Joy Steve Foundation (Hope-L), ImiGan Hope Empowerment Initiative, and Nigerian Bar Association Women Forum today, September 30th, 2025.
"We brought together over 50 girls with unique and special abilities at the Bauchi State Special School for a fun-filled day of learning and empowerment. We sensitized the girls on the importance of education and its impact on their families, lives, communities, relationships, and future. We also educated the girls on good menstrual hygiene practices, promoting health, confidence, and self-esteem."
Corroborating, Mr. Sirajo encouraged the girls for their courage to be in school and reminded them that they are a unique set of people. He extended the warm regards of the Executive Director of Hope-L.
In their separate remarks, the Executive Director of Imigan Hope Empowerment Initiative, represented by Mr. Nehemiah, and the Executive Director of Hope-L, represented by Aljabad, expressed their delight in being part of the impactful activity and encouraged the girls to pursue their education with resilience and tenacity.
Amarachi from Imigan Hope Empowerment Initiative and Mrs. Karot John of Child Is Gold Foundation facilitated sessions on the Importance of Girls' Education and imbibing the culture of good menstrual hygiene for adolescent girls and young women, respectively.
The theme was "Together, we're shaping the future of these young girls and empowering them to achieve their dreams."
The event witnessed a presentation of gift items, including writing materials and menstrual pads, to the students.
