...Distances self from ‘false’ petition

The people of Ari District in Ningi Emirate of Bauchi State have called on the State Government and relevant security agencies to investigate and bring to justice those responsible for circulating a fake petition using the name of the District against the creation of new Emirates and Districts in the State.
The community described the actions of the faceless group as “inimical to peace and unity in our community.”
The community therefore distanced themselves from the petition recently circulated against the proposed creation of a new Emirate or Chiefdom in Ningi Emirate, describing it as false and misleading.
In a public statement issued by the Chamo/Base Community Development Association, and jointly signed by Mal. Sani Na Begu Batu and Hudu Galadima Marke, the community clarified that the alleged petition did not originate from the people of Ari District.
According to the statement, the petition was “orchestrated by individuals who do not represent the true interests or collective will of the people of Ari District particularly those from Chamo and Base communities.”
The group said the intention behind the fake petition was to create unnecessary tension and mislead the public into believing that they are against government initiatives that promote peace, inclusion, and development.
The statement further highlighted the district’s history of supporting government reforms and peaceful coexistence.
It could recalled that during the administration of former Governor Isa Yuguda, the District Head of Ari facilitated the creation of about 13 new district heads within the area without any opposition, underscoring the community’s commitment to unity and progress.
“We are disciplined, law-abiding, and peace-loving citizens who welcome any initiative that enhances growth and harmony in our communities,” the group stated.
The association urged the public, media organizations, and relevant authorities to disregard the false petition, emphasizing that the claim that Chamo and Base communities oppose the proposed Ari Emirate is “completely false.”
Reaffirming their support for the state government’s peace and development efforts, the statement stressed that “Ari District remains firmly committed to the peace, progress, and prosperity of Ningi Local Government and Bauchi State at large.”
