In preparation for the 2025/2026 academic session, the Bauchi State Government is set to hand over the newly constructed Mangari Model Primary, Misau to accommodate over 5,000 pupils.
The Chairman of Misau local government, Salisu Hussaini said this on Saturday during an inspection of grassroot projects of the state government across the 20 local government councils.
Hussaini explained that the project has over 50 classrooms apart from the administrative blocks and staff rooms, with capacity of about 50 pupils per class.
He explained that the school is targeting over 5,000 enrollments to reduce the rate of out-of-school children that has plagued the education sector in the state.
While speaking, the Commissioner of Information and Communications, Usman Shehu Usman, who led the team of government officials to assess the level of work in the rural area, tasked the government of Misau to protect the facility from vandals.
He urged the Chairman of the council to provide security and maintenance mechanisms.
Responding, Hussaini said that the council had hired security personnel to manage the school while warning that inter sabotage will be dealt with in accordance with the law.
“We have noticed that those who vandalise our projects are mostly with the system. Outsiders don't carry out such action of destruction with connivance with insiders, but we have resolved to deal with this with all sense seriousness,” he said.
