Bauchi Gov appoints VOA journalist as SSA Communication

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has announced the appointment of Alh. Abdulwahab Mohammed, a journalist with the Voice of America (Hausa Service) as Senior Special Assistant.

A statement by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Mukhtar Gidado on Friday said that the journalist, whose experience in the media cut across broadcast and print would resume work immediately.

According to him, the veteran broadcaster is expected to “bring to the administration his wealth of experience spanning decades in media, at both national and international levels. 

“His appointment reflects Governor Bala Mohammed’s commitment to strengthening the state’s communication machinery and deepening government engagement with the public.

“As a trusted voice in journalism with a track record of objectivity, and dedication, Alhaji Abdulwahab Mohammed is expected to play a key role in projecting the laudable policies and programmes of the Bauchi State Government, enhancing public awareness, and promoting good governance,” he said.

The Governor congratulated the new appointee and urged him to bring his vast expertise to bear in the discharge of his responsibilities, in line with the administration’s vision of building a more informed and inclusive society.
