A 13 year old boy from Gungun Rimi Community of Tafawa Balewa local Government area of Bauchi State, Musa Muhammad Kabir needs N1.5 million to undergo a spinal cord surgery at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH).
According to Musa's parents, he was diagnosed with a spinal cord problem about three weeks ago but was trapped in financial constraints due to their low income.
His father, a health attendant at Gwashe Dispensary also in Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area could not foot the bills.
Jamila Muhammad Kabir, the patient’s mother who spoke with our Correspondent, explained that Musa fell off a mango tree and was left with serious cervical injuries that require emergency medical interventions to save him from being permanently paralyzed or sudden death.
According to her, the dreams of her son to become someone helpful to the family, his community and Nigeria at large are obviously slipping away.
Jamila added that it took the compassionate support from some kind individuals including medical workers to enable them conduct some tests, X-ray, have some medical equipment and to access some drugs.
She regretted that for the past six weeks they have been on admission.
She therefore appealed to the Tafawa Balewa local government council, Bauchi state government, Senator representing Bauchi-South Senatorial District, Shehu Umar Buba, other spirited individuals and organisations to come to their rescue.
Musa who is supposed to be in JSS II, with tears flowing down his face, said his present condition had hindered him from continuing with his studies while his mates are in school.
