Pastor Calls for Christian Unity as Family worship centre celebrate 3rd Anniversary in Bauchi

By Beatrice Gondyi

During the 3rd anniversary celebration of Family Worship Center Church in Bauchi, Resident Pastor Ezekiel David Izam has issued a passionate call for unity among Christians, emphasizing that the body of Christ must remain united in love for the light of Christ to shine.

Pastor Izam stated this during the midyear thanksgiving and 3rd anniversary of the inauguration of the Family worship center church in Bauchi.

"I am going to be calling on the body of Christ in Bauchi for us to be united. When we work together, that is when we are going to be making a greater impact in the state. Let us be united, let us be believers in deeds, let us shine the light."

He stressed that disunity weakens the Church’s impact and called on leaders and believers to put aside doctrinal and denominational barriers so that their character will reflect Christ.

"The first thing is unity and the second is our character. Let there be a clear distinction between the believers and those who are not believers and then they will see more reason to come to our light. In our offices, in our estates, in our families, let there be a clear distinction between believers and non believers that is what I will call the body of Christ to do more."

He thanked God for his mercies in the first half of the year "we just had our midyear thanksgiving to give God thanks for all he's done for us, our families, individuals and in our businesses and every area of our lives. God has been so good to us in 6 months and so we thought it wise to pause and to give him thanks for all that he has done for us this year."

Pastor Izam explained his plans for the future of the church in Bauchi "I am going to be focused on the people that I have in my ministry right now. I am going to be ensuring that their lives are impacted. Follower ship I s determined by the quality and the testimony of those who have currently come in contact with the ministry.

“If you have impacted their lives very well, they will go and share that testimony with others and that is what will bring even more people to the assembly. So I am going to be people centred, I am going to be ensuring that we focus on the lives of people by helping to solve real problems of people. People are facing real life challenges.

“It is not just to come and share Bibles and share the word of God alone. We really want to see, the next three years we are going to be focusing on how we are going to impact the lives of people. We are going to see how people will get jobs. We are going to be encouraging people to get skills to further their education. People who are single will see how we are going to strategically position ourselves, improve ourselves to see that when they start families it will be the kind of families that will last.”
