The Bauchi State Government has successfully returned its 2,550 pilgrims for the 2025 Hajj exercise.
Executive Secretary of the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Imam Abdulrahman Idris, explained that the last flight landed at the Sir Abubakar Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport at about 10am on Friday, carrying a total of 398 –the last number of the pilgrims.
Imam said this while speaking with journalists at the Airport, attributed the success of the Hajj exercise to the government commitment and support from Governor Bala Mohammed.
“This year's Hajj operation was one of the best in recent years. The arrangements before, during and after the exercise were carried out seamlessly. We had minimal setbacks throughout.
"We thank Allah for making the exercise, it was a huge success, we went safely and returned safely. The hitches were minimal, all the pilgrims are back home safely," he added.
Imam highlighted the challenge faced to include the return flight schedule and attributed it to the operating air company, over a minimal return flight schedule.
He called on NAHCON to ensure that more return flight schedules were allotted to the airline in future, stressing that everything else went well as planned.
He commended the leadership of the 2025 Amirul Hajj, the Emir of Jama'are, Nuhu Wabi, the Deputy Amirul Hajj, Speaker, Bauchi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Abubakar Suleiman and other members of the team for a job well done.
The ES assured that the 2025 exercise would be reviewed in order to effectively plan for the 2026 edition in order to have a better organized exercise.
