Group writes Bala Mohammed, speaker, others to support Dauda Jika for governor

By Rauf Oyewole

A political pressure group, Coalition of Concerned People of Bauchi State has written to the Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Abubakar Suleiman, and other critical stakeholders including the traditional institutions to support a time Bauchi Central senator, Dauda Haliru Jika to become next governor.

When addressing journalists on Saturday, the Chairman of the Coalition Committee, Ahmed Yero, said that the Coalition has duly observed that there is the need to present a qualified candidate to run the affairs of the State in the 2027 governorship election.

“With a deep sense of responsibility and accountability that we believe that at time in the history and time of our dear state, and without prejudice to all other governorship aspirants, we thought that Senator Halliru Dauda Jika (Dokajin Bauchi) is observed to have necessary qualities to lead Bauchi state in 2027.

“It is against the background that we went to the field to seek the peoples opinion, hence our findings returned positive, supporting his qualification to aspire for the governorship of our state, even though he contested in 2023, but this time Bauchi people want him as their next governor.

“It is on this premise, that we successively write to various stakeholders across party lines in the state, as well as our royal fathers and the custodian of our traditional institutions, and our religious leaders all over the state to seek their indulgence, support and prayer.”

Yero added that “Finally, we wish to collectively request the support of the current governor, Sen. Bala Mohammed for his support in this project as we assured him our loyalty and humility of distinguished Senator Haliru Dauda Jika as a confident and able personality to manage the affairs of Bauchi State in a very good respectful manner,” he said.
