The Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) Bauchi has pleaded with its staff over the delayed April salary, saying that the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation has not released funds to the Institution.
According to an internal memo written to the staff and circulating on social media, the University’s Bursar, Mrs. Oluyode Oluseyi Adenike pleaded with the staff over the delay.
“I write to inform members of staff that the University is experiencing delay in payment of April, 2025 salary. This is attributed to non-release of financial backing from the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF).
“It should be stated that the University Administration has been in contact with the OAGF to facilitate payment of the salary. In view of the above, the Management urges members of staff to continue to exercise patience, please,” she said.
When contacted, the University’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Zailani Bappa confirmed the memo, saying “It’s genuine”.
