Youth Assembly of Nigeria picks Bauchi Commissioner, Yakubu Adamu as patron

The Speaker of the Youths Assembly of Nigeria, Bauchi State Chapter, Rt. Hon. Sani Danaudi Mohammed, has announced that the Assembly has resolved to pick Dr. Yakubu Adamu, the Commissioner of Finance and Economic Development in Bauchi State as its patron in the state.

Mohammed made this known yesterday when he led a delegation to honour the economist in his office.

The ceremony, which took place at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, was attended by top government officials, youth leaders, and other stakeholders.

In his remarks, Hon. Mohammed praised Dr. Yakubu Adamu for his outstanding contributions to youth development and governance in Bauchi State.

He said: "Dr. Yakubu Adamu has been a strong advocate for youth empowerment and has implemented several initiatives to support the growth and development of young people in Bauchi State," said Mohammed.

"We are honored to have him as our Patron and look forward to working closely with him to advance the interests of young people in our state."

Adamu, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, expressed his gratitude to the Youths Assembly of Nigeria for the honour. He pledged to continue working tirelessly to support the development of young people in Bauchi State.

During the ceremony, the Youths Assembly of Nigeria also announced plans to present a bill to the Bauchi State House of Assembly aimed at banning the practice of "Bola Jari" (scavengers) in the state. The bill, which is currently being drafted, seeks to address the negative effects of the practice on young people in the state.

"We believe that the banning of 'Bola Jari' is a necessary step towards protecting the welfare and future of young people in Bauchi State," Mohammed said.

"We look forward to working with the Bauchi State House of Assembly to ensure the passage of this important bill."

The ceremony was followed by a meeting between the Youths Assembly of Nigeria and Adamu, where they discussed ways to collaborate on youth development initiatives and promote good governance in Bauchi State.

The Youth Assembly of Nigeria is a non-partisan organization that aims to promote youth participation in governance and decision-making processes. The organization has been actively engaged in advocacy and policy-making efforts to support the development of young people in Nigeria.
