Government didn’t dissolve Bauchi scholarship board, says Official

By Rauf Oyewole

The Bauchi State Government has distanced itself from a viral letter claiming that the Governor, Bala Mohammed has dissolved the Scholarship Board due to his inability of the state to fund the establishment.

The Governor’s Media Aide, Mukhtar Gidado on Thursday explained that purported correspondence did not emanate from the government.

“We hereby state that this information is completely false and does not reflect the position of the Bauchi State Government. At no point did the government issue any directive to dissolve the Scholarship Board or halt the provision of scholarships to deserving students. The administration remains committed to its priority of supporting education and the welfare of students across the state,” he said.

According to him, amidst the economic challenges faced by the country, the Bauchi State Government has consistently prioritized education, acknowledging its significance to the future of the state. “We reaffirm that the state scholarship scheme remains active, and the government will ensure that scholarships are paid on time,” he said.

He urged the public to disregard the purported statement, adding that any official communication from the Bauchi State Government would be released through recognized channels and verified authorities.
