In the wake of devastating floods that ravaged Borno State, leaving thousands in dire need, the AYM Shafa Foundation owned by a philanthropist and a businessman, has stepped up to provide food assistance to vulnerable communities.
According to Sheikh Ibrahim Disina, a member of the distribution committee from the foundation, the AYM Shafa Foundation is currently feeding approximately 4,000 individuals daily in Maiduguri.
Shafa, who hails from Bauchi State, is a major petroleum marketter in Nigeria and owns filling stations in different in parts of the country.
Disina, explained that the foundation's food assistance aims to alleviate the suffering of those affected by the recent floods, which destroyed homes, livelihoods, and infrastructure.
"Charity alleviates suffering, and we implore more affluent individuals and organisations to lend a helping hand to the victims. The flood victims need support by all who can in this period.", he said.
