Heavy rainfall has blocked access roads for many people to change their way to the hospital especially among patients visitors, students of school of Nursing Sciences and other passerby from gaining access.
The rainfall which started around 1:45 lasted for almost two hours before the rain subsided. Many people who wanted to pass through the road could not gain access because the volume of the water had overshadowed the main streets.
The water has submerged the road which forced many people to change their routes from the Total Filling Station to long distance trekking before they could reach the hospital or come out.
Interviews with some of the students and patient visitors expressed their dismay and anger over what they called as a serious negligence from the authority concerned and government to do the right thing on the road.
Malam Muh'd Dogo 55 year old, who came all the way from Unguwan Gass off Railway quarters said "this problem has been long, it has not started now, whenever there's a heavy rain, the road used to blocked and those in the authority are aware but because they're not following through the road that's why they abundant to repair the road.”
Some of the patients' visitors, Maman Audu of Malam Goje and Jummai Nuhu from Bakaro, lamented over their difficulties whenever they're facing through the road after a rain has fallen.
Similarly, students of the college of Nursing Midwifery and Nursing Science who hide their identities said the problem of the road was a long issue and the government is not willing to repair the road.
According to some of the roadside traders along the area, they lamented that whenever it is the rainy season they usually face low sales due to the low patronage of customers to come due to the condition of the road.
According to them, "if a small bridge or a culvert will be built, the water will not stay, it will have access to flow without any hindrances."
They however appealed to the government to come to their aid and repair the road for people to have a smooth access to pass.
Our correspondent reported that the road is the only shortest way for thousands of people who visit the hospital every day.
