By Ahmed Ahmed

The Muslim Students' Society of Nigeria (MSSN) Bauchi State chapter has convened a forum of stakeholders to create awareness on SAMOA agreement by the Federal Government of Nigeria.

The Stakeholders comprises Islamic and Christians clerics, civil society organisations, academia, students among others.

Speaking at a public forum organised by the Society on Sunday in Bauchi, the MSSN Amir, Dr Adamu Hamid, said the forum was organised to create awareness on the Samoa agreement.

He explained that the ratification of the Samoa agreement by some African and Caribbean countries has continued to attract comments from both Islamic and Christian religious organisations.

Hamid noted that there was an uproar over the agreement that needed awareness and clarification for people to understand the agreement.

Dr Hamid, said the choice of the theme: “Perils of Globalization: How Samoa Agreement Undermines Religious and Nigeria's Cultural Identity, was to educate the people on the dangers of the LGBTQ and the need to jointly fight it.

Guest lecturers at the forum Prof. Salisu Shehu, advised groups like the MSSN to use social media influencers and Tik Tokers to enlighten and educate the populace on the evils of gender mainstreaming in the society.

Shehu, who is the Vice Chancellor of All Istiqama University Sumaila in Kano State, urged parents not to allow their wards to watch all sorts of cartoons, warning that perpetrators of the act have resorted to using such platforms to achieve their objective.

He cautioned education stakeholders about the presence of some text books that convince their readers about the necessity for same sex marriage under the present dispensation.
