The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Bauchi state branch has pledged to ensure professionalism and mentor young engineers in order to advance the engineering profession in the state.
Engr. Shehu wakili, the newly elected Chairman of NSE in the state, made the pledge in an interview with newsmen on Saturday after the announcement of the election results of the newly elected Executive Council Members during the 2026 Annual General Meeting of NSE.
“This mandate is a call to service and I am deeply honored. I pledge to provide inclusive, transparent, and purposeful leadership that will uphold the ethics of our profession and advance the objectives of NSE.
“Together, we will focus on professional development, engineering excellence, advocacy, and community impact in Bauchi State. I cannot do this alone. I count on your cooperation, ideas, and commitment as we build a stronger Branch.
“We will try and strive to make the society move forward. We have so many agenda to achieve, we want to increase our membership by so many activities and we want to carry our young ones and mentor them as and when due.
“I want to call on all of us that were elected to work hard for the progress of this society in general,” he said.
The positions elected, he said, included Vice Chairman where Engr. Aliyu Ibrahim Adamu was the winner, Engr. Adamu Umar Chinade won the General Secretary, Engr. Musa Mohammed was elected as the Deputy General Secretary, Engr. Lumi Jonathan won the Technical Secretary position, Engr. Salim Ibrahim Yelwa was elected as the Deputy Technical Secretary.
Wakili further explained that Engr. Suleman Muhammad became the Treasurer and Engr. Aliyu Yakubu, Financial Secretary while Engr. Jawahir Mohammed, Engr. Hadi Ibrahim remained EX Officios with Engr. Abdulkarim Hassan, immediate past Chairman of the Society.
Speaking on behalf of the newly elected Executive Council Members, Wakili extended their gratitude to God and members who found them fit to serve the society and promised to serve to the best of their abilities.
