The National Orientation Agency (NOA) in Borno has urged eligible residents of the state to take advantage of the two-week extension of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The State Director of NOA, Mr. Michael Bdliya, made the appeal in a statement issued by the agency's Head of Communications and Media, Mr. Danladi Emmanuel, and made available to newsmen on Monday in Maiduguri.
Bdliya said the extension offers another opportunity for eligible citizens who are yet to register, as well as those wishing to update their voter registration details, to participate in the exercise.
He said the agency, in line with its mandate of mobilising citizens for nation-building, was encouraging residents to embrace the opportunity to strengthen democratic participation.
The director also highlighted INEC's newly introduced Online Self-Service registration platform, which enables prospective voters to begin the registration process online before completing biometric capture at any INEC Local Government Area office.
According to him, voter registration remains the foundation of civic participation, urging residents not to delay until the last minute.
He described the Permanent Voter's Card (PVC) as a vital tool that empowers citizens to determine the future of Borno State and Nigeria through the ballot.
Bdliya advised intending registrants to visit the INEC portal to commence the online process or visit the nearest INEC LGA office or the NOA Borno State office for assistance.
