Member representing Darazo/Ganjuwa Federal Constituency in Bauchi State and chairman, House Committee on small and medium enterprises, Hon. Mansur Manu Soro, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing persistent internal crisis.
In a resignation letter dated May 1, 2026 and addressed to the Ward chairman of the PDP in Ganjuwa Ward, Ganjuwa local government area, and made available to journalists in Bauchi yesterday, Soro said his decision takes effect from April 30, 2026.
He attributed his exit to deepening divisions and unresolved conflicts within the party.
"My resignation is caused by the internal divisions and irreconcilable wranglings that have bedevilled the party over the last two years," he stated.
Soro expressed appreciation to the party for the opportunity to serve his constituency at the National Assembly.
"I wish to extend my sincere gratitude to the party for giving me the rare privilege to represent my beloved constituency, Darazo/Ganjuwa, at the National Assembly," he added.
Although the lawmaker did not disclose his new political affiliation, but his boss Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, on Saturday announced his defection from the PDP to the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).
