The Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD) has distributed school uniforms and learning materials to pupils of Kondawa Nomadic School in Jama'are Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

Centre also presented appointment letters to three teachers recruited by the organisation to strengthen education in the community.

Speaking during the presentation of the appointment letters yesterday in Jama'are, the education officer of Jama’are local government area, Alhaji Salisu Shayibu Umar, commended CITAD for the intervention, describing it as a major contribution toward improving the standard of education in the area.

He noted that the provision of school uniforms, learning materials, and additional teachers would significantly improve teaching and learning at the school.

The Education Secretary also praised the organisation's commitment to supporting education and assured CITAD of the local education authority’s readiness to collaborate in advancing educational development in the area.

He further urged parents and members of the Kondawa community to enroll their children in school to secure a brighter future for them.

In his remarks, the Executive Director of CITAD, Yunusa Zakari Ya’u, expressed delight over the large turnout of community members at the occasion.

He stressed that every individual possesses unique talents and deserves access to quality education, emphasizing that ignorance has no place in modern society.

Represented by the Senior Director of Training, Alhaji Isah Garba, cited Professor Jibril Aminu as an example of a nomad who rose to national prominence through education, noting that CITAD’s intervention was not merely about financial support but about promoting education, especially in rural communities.

According to him, the modern world requires educated and informed farmers and citizens, urging parents to support their children's education by enrolling them in school and ensuring regular attendance.

Also speaking, the District Head of Jurara, represented by Mallam Saleh Jauro, appreciated CITAD for the gesture and called on the people of Kondawa to take full advantage of the opportunity by sending their children to school.

He stated that there was no reason for the community to lag behind in educational development and appealed to government authorities to collaborate with CITAD in improving nomadic education in the area.

In his vote of thanks, the Emir of Jama’are, Alhaji Nuhu Ahmad Wabi, represented by the District Head of Gilar-Gongo, Alhaji Wada Muhammad, expressed profound appreciation to CITAD for supporting education in Kondawa village.

He described the initiative as highly commendable and beneficial to the community.

The Emir further called on traditional rulers, parents, and other stakeholders to support the programme by encouraging children to enroll and remain in school so they could fully benefit from the educational opportunities being provided.

He assured the organisation of continued support for educational development across the emirate and prayed for the success of the initiative.
