Bauchi SUBEB Urges Public To Report Fraudsters Selling Teaching Appointments

By Khalid Idris Doya

The Bauchi State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has distanced itself from the alleged sale of teaching employment opportunities in the state.

In a press release issued by the board's public relations officer, Isah Mohammed Jungudo, and made available to journalists on Thursday, the board said it had received reports that some individuals were collecting money from unsuspecting members of the public with promises of securing teaching jobs.

"It has come to the notice of the State Universal Basic Education Board that some bad elements have formed the habit of collecting money from individuals for teaching employment," the statement said.

The board stressed that it has no connection whatsoever with the illegal act and warned members of the public against dealing with such individuals.

SUBEB further urged residents to report anyone suspected of collecting money in the name of teachers' recruitment to the appropriate authorities.

The statement added that the notice was also directed to all relevant security agencies for necessary action.
