Bauchi 2027: Christian APC Leaders Hold Prayer Session for Ex-Gov Abubakar

By Luka Yelmi

A coalition of Christian leaders in the All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared prayer support for Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar ahead of the 2027 Bauchi State governorship election.

The declaration was made on Saturday in Bauchi during the opening and prayer session of the National APC Christian Leaders Forum of Nigeria (NACLFON), Bauchi State Chapter.

The event was held in collaboration with the Aisha M.A. Abubakar Progressive Support Coalition, with delegates from all 20 local government areas in attendance alongside faith leaders, traditional rulers, women and youth representatives.

Apostle Daniel Yusuf Adamu, Bauchi State Coordinator of NACLFON and General Overseer of Majalisan Ruhu MaiTsarki Outreach Ministries, said the gathering was aimed at promoting spiritual responsibility and moral engagement in governance.

“NACLFON is a movement of Christian leaders determined to bring moral consciousness, peaceful coexistence, and constructive participation into governance and nation building,” Adamu said.

He explained that the group’s decision to support Abubakar followed consultations and was based on his record in office between 2015 and 2019.

The forum cited improvements in education, agriculture and healthcare during his administration.

According to Adamu, school enrolment and access in the education sector rose from about 3.7 per cent to nearly 40 per cent under Abubakar’s administration.

He also stated that the former governor invested nearly ₦1 billion in agricultural inputs to support farmers and food production, while facilitating the upgrade of health facilities across the state’s 20 local government areas.

The coalition further commended Abubakar for promoting religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence in the state.

Adamu reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC, saying he had supported the party for more than 10 years, and urged members to remain engaged and work for reforms within the party.

The event ended with prayers for Bauchi State, the North-East and Nigeria.

Other speakers at the event included Prof. Abraham, Vice Chancellor of HBI University USA; Hon. Agnes; Aisha M.A. Abubakar; M.S. Iliya; Rev. Julius Jeremiah; and Victoria Joshua.
