By Khalid Idris Doya

The Bala Wunti Support Organisation (BWSO) has donated the sum of five hundred thousand naira (N500,000) to persons living with disabilities in Bauchi State as part of efforts to improve their living conditions and provide support during the holy month of Ramadan.

The donation was announced during a special distribution of Ramadan food items to people with special needs across the state on Saturday held at the Double Four International Conference Hall in Bauchi.

Speaking at the occasion, the Chief Executive Officer of the organisation, Mallam Muktar Jarmajo, said the gesture was aimed at easing the burden of vulnerable groups during Ramadan. He reaffirmed BWSO’s commitment to humanitarian service and inclusive community development.

Jarmajo also announced the automatic employment of one female member of the association, describing it as part of the organisation's efforts to promote inclusivity and equal opportunity.

He stressed that the era of treating persons with physical challenges as less human is over, noting that BWSO firmly believes there is ability in every disability.

He added that as a youth-focused organisation, BWSO remains committed to promoting socio-economic development in the state while encouraging a positive shift in societal attitudes toward inclusion.

For his part, the Bauchi Local Government Chairman of the Physically Challenged Association, Malam Tahir Kawu Malamagoje, called on members and citizens of the state to use the Ramadan period to pray for Dr. Bala Maijama'a Wunti in appreciation of his support for the less privileged.

Malamagoje made the call while receiving the food items on behalf of the association. He expressed delight that political leaders and government institutions are increasingly giving attention to issues affecting persons with physical challenges.

He urged members and all Muslims to pray for Dr. Bala Wunti for what he described as "Putting smiles on our faces," emphasizing that one good turn deserves another.

Also speaking, the Women Leader of the association in Bauchi LGA, Malama Fatima Abdullahi, commended Dr. Bala Wunti and BWSO for offering employment to a female member of the association.

She assured that the association stands firmly with Dr. Bala Wunti in his political journey and described him as a champion of the common man.
