Bauchi Gov Appoints Isa Baba As SUBEB Chairman, Noma To Chair MTMC

The Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has approved the appointment of Alhaji Abubakar Isa Baba as the Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) with immediate effect.

Before his new appointment, Isa Baba served as Chairman of the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASSA). He has now been redeployed to led SUBEB.

Isa Baba succeeds Alhaji Adamu Mohammed Duguri, who was recently appointed as the first Emir of Duguri with First-Class status. 

It would be recalled that on October 24, 2025, Governor Bala Mohammed approved the appointment of Alhaji Adamu Mohammed Duguri as the pioneer First-Class Emir of Duguri.

In another development, the Governor appointed Alhaji Garba Mohammed Noma as Chairman of the Bauchi State Markets and Terminals Management Company Limited (MTMC).

The appointments and redeployments were announced in a press statement issued on Tuesday night by the Governor’s spokesperson, Mukhtar Gidado. According to the statement, the decisions followed gaps created in some agencies and the need to reinvigorate public service delivery.

The statement further revealed that Alhaji Yayanuwa Zainabari, who previously served as Chairman of the Bauchi State Water and Sewerage Corporation (BSWSC), has been redeployed to RUWASSA as Chairman.

Also, Engineer Salmanu Mohammed has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Bauchi State Water and Sewerage Corporation (BSWSC).

Gidado stated that the redeployments and new appointments were made in consideration of the appointees' pedigree, competence, and experience.
